Denis Villeneuve has presumably made a grand impression on Alcon Entertainment with his recent film “Prisoners,” in which Alcon financed and produced. Alcon’s co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson announced today that Villeneuve has just signed a two-year contract to write and direct for Alcon and any third party it’s partnered with. What projects those are however, are still up in the air as the respective parties are still just in the first stages of brainstorming.
Villeneuve is most known for “Incendies,” a story following twins traveling to the Middle East to uncover their family history and fulfill their mother’s dying wishes. You can also see his work in “Enemy,” released this year about a man on a hunt for his look-alike.
