Bill Holderman’s directorial debut BOOK CLUB has added Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, and Candice Bergen to headline. Holderman penned the comedy with Erin Simms and the pair will produce with Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks from June Pictures.
The story is set in and around California and centers on four lifelong friends in their 60s who read 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club and have their lives changed forever. For these successful and intelligent women, this is not the type of book that they typically read, but as soon as they find out, inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places.
Bloom is handling international sales in Cannes with WME Global representing domestic rights.
Keaton is set to reteam with her First Wives Clubs co-stars Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn in Netflix’s Divination and will next be seen in Hampstead with Brendan Gleeson.
Fonda currently stars in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie opposite Lily Tomlin and recently wrapped Our Souls at Night with Robert Redford.
Bergen can next be seen in Home Again with Reese Witherspoon and Michael Sheen, and was recently featured in The Meyerowitz Stories.
