Casey Affleck is in talks to join the cast of Disney’s THE FINEST HOURS. The period drama follows the story of a Coast Guard rescue, which is undertaken after two oil tankers were torn in half by treacherous waves during a deadly blizzard. Craig Gillespie will direct from a script written by Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson. Affleck would co-star with Chris Pine.
While once known only as “Ben Affleck’s little brother,” Casey Affleck has made a name for himself both in front of the camera and behind it. He has appeared as Virgil Malloy in the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise, Patrick Kenzie in “Gone Baby Gone,” and Bob Muldoon in indie drama “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.” He co-wrote the script for Gus Van Sant’s 2002 drama “Gerry,” before writing and directing dramedy “I’m Still Here” starring Joaquin Phoenix. Affleck is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s newest sci-fi flick “Interstellar,” as well as the HBO miniseries “Lewis and Clark.”
Affleck is repped by WME.
