Summit has cast Theo James in a lead role in DIVERGENT along with Kate Winslet, Aaron Eckhart, Ray Stevenson and Miles Teller.
The film stars Shailene Woodley and is centered on a dystopian world where teenagers are split into factions based on their personalities. James will play Four, Woodley’s hard-hnosed instructor. No word on what roles the other newcomers will take.
Doug Wick, Lucy Fisher and Pouya Shahbazian will produce.
James currently stars on the series “Golden Boy” and “Bedlam” and last starred in the comedy “The Inbetweeners”. He is repped by WME and Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
After last starring in the shameful comedy-anthology “Movie 43”, Winslet will next appear in the drama “Labor Day”. She is repped by CAA and United Agents.
Eckhart will next appear in the action pic “Olympus Has Fallen” and Stuart Beattie’s “I, Frankenstein”. He is repped by CAA.
Stevenson last starred in “The Three Musketeers” and will be reprising his role as Volstagg in “Thor: The Dark World”. He is repped by WME and Independent Talent Group.
This will be Teller’s second project alongside Woodley, who he starred opposite of in Sundance darling “The Spectacular Now”. He is repped by CAA.
