Star Wars: The Force Awakens star is in talks for the role of AA Milne in GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN. Milne was the creator of Winnie the Pooh, the famous and honey-obsessed bear from the classic children’s books. 

The film follows the relationship between Milne and his son, which led to the creation of the character who was named after Milne’s son Robin’s teddy bear. Winnie the Pooh’s friend, a young boy named Robin, was modeled after Milne’s son. Many of the other characters in the stories are named after his son’s toys such as Tigger, Eyeore, and Piglet. The books were adapted by Disney beginning in 1966 with Winnie The Pooh And The Honey Tree.

Gleeson recently signed on to play the co-founder of National Lampoon in the Netflix film A Futile & Stupid Gesture and is attached to Lenny Abrahamson’s adaptation of the Sarah Waters’ novel The Little Stranger. Last year he starred in Alex Garland’s Ex Machina as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and is expected to appear in the sequels.
