The Wire alum Dominic West has been tapped for THE SQUARE, the English-language debut of Force Majeure director Ruben Ostlund. West will join Elisabeth Moss in the dark dramedy set in the world of international art.
The cast also includes Danish actor Claes Bang, Christopher Laesso, and famous international gallery owner Marina Schiptjenko as herself. Erik Hemmendorff will produce the film under his Plattform Produktion banner alongside Film Vast and the Coproduction Office of Sweden.
The Square follows an artist exhibiting an installation in a good-natured public square. When the manager of the museum hosting the installation hires a PR firm to build buzz around the exhibit, things go too far and plans for the exhibit go awry.
West recently voiced the character of Rudder in the Pixar blockbuster Finding Dory. He also appeared in Genius and Money Monster opposite George Clooney and Julia Roberts. He is also known for his role in the Showtime’s Golden Globe-winning drama The Affair.
He is repped by WME and Tavistock Wood Management.
