It seems that Spielberg has further plans for Colin Trevorrow. DreamWorks has revived Stealing Time, a script that was originally written by Trevorrow years back, with a new draft by Tim Dowling on the way. The film was originally in development at Columbia, and producers Bob Cooper and Charles Segars will follow the project from Columbia to DreamWorks. Trevorrow will executive produce with Jeff Phillips.
The film follows three generations of a family. When a scientist builds a time machine, he must travel to the past in order to protect it from those who would destroy history for their own gain. However, he leaves instructions and clues for his son and grandson to build another machine in order to save him.
DreamWorks wants to get into the Trevorrow business, as they think his tastes fit the bill that Amblin brought to the screen in the 80s. In fact, they have also picked up another one of his sci-fi adventure projects, Intelligent Life.
