Dwayne Johnson will star and produce an upcoming remake of the 1986 cult classic BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA from 20th Century Fox. The screenplay is set to be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, the writers of X-Men: First Class. Based on the 1986 film, the story follows Jack Burton, an All-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Johnson will portray the role previously played by Kurt Russell. Johnson will produce with Dany and Hiram Garcia.
Johnson just had a massive weekend with San Andreas pulling in an estimated $53 Million. He is set to star with Kevin Hart in the action comedy Central Intelligence and is set to star as the title role in the DC film Shazam. He will co-star in Fast and Furious 8, which was quickly set by Universal after the massive global haul of Furious 7.
