The Finnish version, released in 2007, won great critical acclaim as well as six Jussi Awards, the Finnish equivalent of an Oscar. The film, directed by Petri Kotwica, is a complex thriller that explores a love triangle between a woman, her husband and the husband’s mistress.
Sellers had been interested in acquiring the rights for years but was not able to convince Kotwica to give them up until partnering with MGM SVP Cassidy Lange. The deal just closed and the project will go out as an open writing/directing assignment.
Sellers is currently producing When The Bough Breaks starring Morris Chestnut with Michael Lynne and Robert Shaye. He recently spent three years as head of production at The Weinstein Company where he oversaw such films as St. Vincent and Southpaw.
