Ed Helms, Hilary Swank and Ed Harris are all in talks to join Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s series ONE PERCENT. Helms and Swank would star as a couple who struggle to keep their organic farm afloat, both professionally and personally. Harris would play the family patriarch. The hour-long drama series was created by Iñárritu, Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolas Giacobone, and Armando Bo. Iñárritu is set to direct the series for MRC, which will shop the project to buyers in a few weeks.
Helms traditionally shines in his comedy roles on “The Office” and in the “Hangover” series, so this project would mark a return to TV as well as a turn toward more dramatic fare. Helms is set to star in John Francis Daley’s comedy “Vacation,” a re-boot of the classic franchise where Helms will star as a grown-up Rusty Griswold.
This project would mark Swank’s return to TV after her brief stint on “Beverly Hills, 90210” back in the 90’s. She recently starred opposite Tommy Lee Jones in the western “The Homesman” and is attached to produce “Liv,” a drama following on a woman who becomes an overnight sensation after getting her dream job as the editor of a magazine publishing experiment.
Harris has recently starred in the indie drama “The Face of Love,” as well as action/thriller “Snowpiercer.” Shooting recently wrapped on Harris’ upcoming drama “Frontera,” which also stars Eva Longoria and Michael Peña.
