Ed Helms has been tapped to star in the Lake Bell-directed WHAT’S THE POINT? (AND OTHER FAIR QUESTIONS ABOUT MARRIAGE). Bell, who also wrote the script, will star alongside the former staff member of The Office in the ensemble comedy about how marriage should be a seven-year contract with an option to renew.

The comedy is Bell’s directorial follow up to 2013’s In A World… which earned her the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award as well as a Independent Spirit Award nod for Best First Screenplay. She was seen last year in Man Up as well as the thriller No Escape opposite Owen Wilson. She also appears in the comedy Children’s Hospital. Later this year, she will lend her voice to the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets. She will also star in the crime thriller , Shot Caller. She is repped by UTA.
Helms is known for his role in The Hangover franchise, but has also appeared in several films including last year’s Vacation reboot and the holiday movie Love the Coopers. He can next be seen in Alejandro Innaritu’s dysfunctional family TV drama The One Percent with Ed Harris and Hilary Swank, and on the big screen in the Lawrence Sher comedy Bastards with J.K.
