Eddie Redmayne Tapped To Star In “The Last Days Of Night”



Academy Award-winning actor is diving back into the Oscar bait pool with THE LAST DAYS OF NIGHT from The Imitation Game directing/writing duo of Morten Tyldum and Graham Moore.

The historical thriller centers on the “War of the Currents,” the famous race for glory and riches between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse. Featuring a cast of characters ranging from Nikola Tesla to Alexander Graham Bell to Stanford White, the story is part legal caper and fact-based account of one of the most transformative moments in American history.

Redmayne is set to play lawyer Paul Cravath, who rose to fame after taking on this case. Black Bear Pictures won an auction for the spec script written by Moore based on his novel with the same name. Teddy Schwarzman from Black Bear will produce along with Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky of Bristol Automotive.

After winning an Oscar for his turn as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Redmayne earned another Oscar nod for his role in The Danish Girl. He recently presented a new trailer for his upcoming Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them during San Diego Comic-Con.
