Edgar Ramirez is in talks to star in the POINT BREAK remake. Ramirez would replace Gerard Butler as the lead character of Bodhi, a role originally made famous by Patrick Swayze. The remake will be along the same lines as the original but is set in the world of international extreme sports and follows undercover FBI agents tasked with infiltrating a crime ring.
Ramirez has previously appeared in “The Bourne Ultimatum” as Paz, in “Wrath of the Titans” as Ares and, recently, in “The Counselor” where he played the priest. His upcoming projects include a role in the thriller “Deliver Us from Evil” with Eric Bana where he’ll play another priest, boxing biopic “Hands of Stone” where he’ll star as boxing legend Roberto Duran and Errol Morris’ thriller “Holland, Michigan” with Bryan Cranston and Naomi Watts.
