Elijah Wood has joined the cast of Breck Eisner’s THE LAST WITCH HUNTER. The supernatural action flick centers on a man, the last witch hunter, who is left in a world overrun by Witches, and has one shot at keeping humanity from being wiped out by a plague created by the witches. The original pitch came from Cory Goodman but since then the project has gone through a number of re-writes by D.W. Harper, Melisa Wallack, Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. Wood joins Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie and Michael Caine.
Wood started out as a child actor before dipping his feet in the big budget world of hobbits with “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” going on to reprise his role as Frodo three more films in the LOTR franchise. He currently stars in the FX comedy series “Wilfred” and his next film “Cooties” will open October 10.
