Elisabeth Moss is set to take on the art world as the star of the dark dramedy THE SQUARE. The film is written and will be directed by Ruben Ostlund, who is known for Force Majeure, which won the jury prize in the Cannes Un Certain Regard sidebar in 2014.
The story is set in the international art world and will also star Danish actor Claes Bang, Christopher Laesso and famous international gallery owner Marina Schiptjenko as herself. Erik Hemmendorff will produce the film under his Plattform Produktion banner alongside Film Vast and the Coproduction Office of Sweden.
Shooting is epcted to begin in June and is slated for a 2017 release date.
Moss is widely known for her breakout role as Peggy Olson from the AMC series Mad Men. She has since appeared in numerous films including The One I Love, Truth, and most recently, High-Rise opposite Tom Hiddleston. She starred in The Free World, which bowed at the Sundance Film Festival and will return to TV to reprise her starring role in the drama, Top of the Lake, which earned her a Golden Globe.
