Elizabeth Banks Teams With CBS For Family Comedy “Something to Celebrate”

Actress-director-producer is getting into the TV game with SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE, a new family comedy which is in at CBS.

Banks has signed on to be the executive producer of the original series written by Vera Santamaria. The project was created by Secuoya Distribution and Antena 3. Max Handelman, Banks husband, will also executive produce. ., where Banks and Handelman’s Brownstone Productions is based, is the studio.

The single-camera comedy centers on four adult siblings who work in their family’s popular bakery and enjoy the fun of being in a second-generation American family that loves a celebration.

Banks is set to produce the third installment of Pitch Perfect after stepping down from directing the sequel. She stars in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Power Rangers and returns for Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later, which is set to premiere next year.
