It’s a busy day for Denis Villeneuve projects, first with Amy Adams in talks for sci-fi “Story of Your Life” and now Emily Blunt is looking to star in SICARIO. Blunt would play a female police officer who teams up with two mercenaries and treks across the border to Mexico to capture a dangerous drug lord.
Blunt broke into Hollywood as Meryl Streep’s high strung assistant in “The Devil Wears Prada” and went on to star in “Sunshine Cleaning,” “The Young Victoria,” and “Looper.” Her upcoming projects include “Edge of Tomorrow” and “Into the Woods,” the live action fairy tale mash up starring Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep.
“Prisoners” director Villeneuve will shoot SICARIO this summer and hold off on “Story of Your Life” until early next year.
Blunt is repped by CAA.
