Emily Blunt has signed on to voice a new character in the animated feature MY LITTLE PONY. The project from Lionsgate is based on the popular Hasbro franchise. As Tracking Board exclusively reported, Hasbro is also working on a feature version of their franchise The Littlest Pet Shop.
In My Little Pony, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 – Twilight, Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity – embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.
Blunt joins previously cast Kristin Chenoweth, Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, and Ashleigh Ball.
The film is set to be released fall of 2017 with Jayson Theissen directing. Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis produce for Hasbro while Lionsgate oversees distribution and marketing globally, with the exception of China.
Blunt most recently starred in last year’s Sicario and next be seen in The Huntsman Winter’s War and The Girl On The Train. She has also leant her voice to the upcoming Animal Crackers and Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes set for 2018.
She is repped by CAA and The Artists Partnership in the UK.
