Emily Mortimer & Julianne Nicholson Consider Themselves Two Of “Ten Thousand Saints”



and have joined the cast of , based on Eleanor Henderson’s novel of the same name.

The film centers on a boy (Asa Butterfield) who moves in with his estranged hippie father in NYC after his best friend overdoses. While there he falls into a straight-edge crowd and his new ‘healthy’ lifestyle becomes its own addiction for him. Nicholson will play Butterfield’s free-spirited mother, who is divorced from his father (Ethan Hawke). Mortimer will play Hawke’s new girlfriend. Emile Hirsch and Hailee Steinfeld also star.

Celine Rattray, Luca Borghese, Anne Carey, Amy Nauiokas and Trudie Styler will produce.

Mortimer previously starred in “Our Idiot Brother” and “Hugo” and will be reprising her role as Mackenzie MacHale on the final season of “The Newsroom.” She is repped by ICM.

Nicholson can be seen in “August: Osage County” and on Showtime’s “Masters of Sex.” She is with .
