Emma Stone is now attached to star in LOVE MAY FAIL, an adaptation of the novel by Matthew Quick, who authored Silver Linings Playbook.
Mike White scripted the feature, which has now made its home at TriStar after initially being at Columbia Pictures. Matt Tolmach will produce with Elizabeth Cantillon.
Love May Fail follows a woman who is recovering from a depressing ending to her marriage to an adulterous husband. After she discovers that her favorite English teacher has lost his job following a scandal, she then returns to her hometown determined to clear his name.
Stone’s past three films were the Oscar-winning Birdman, Woody Allen’s Irrational Man, and Cameron Crowe’s Aloha.
She recently wrapped on Whiplash director Damien Chazelle’s musical La La Land, which co-stars Ryan Gosling and J.K. Simmons. She’s next prepping to shoot The Lobster helmer Yorgos Lanthimos’s next drama, The Favourite.
Stone is repped by WME and Anonymous Content.
