Emma Stone has been tapped to star as the lead for the spec script, LETTERS FROM ROSEMARY, which tells the story of Rose Marie “Rosemary” Kennedy.
Rosemary was the first-born daughter to Rose Fitzgerald and Joseph Kennedy Sr. She was the oldest sister of President John F. Kennedy as well as Ted and Robert F. Kennedy. She began to show behavioral problems and wasn’t as accomplished as her siblings due to a mental disability that was kept secret by her family. At the age of 23, her father arranged for her to have one of the first prefrontal lobotomies which left her permanently incapacitated.
The spec is the debut script for Nick Yarborough, which was discovered on the Black List by Allard Cantor, Jarrod Murray and Richard Arlook. They will also serve as producers alongside Steve Golin and Doug Wald of Anonymous Content.
Last year, Stone received an Oscar nomination for her role in Birdman and starred in Woody Allen’s Irrational Man. She can be seen next in Damien Chazelle’s musical La La Land alongside Ryan Gosling and J.K. Simmons. She has also signed on to star as tennis legend Billie Jean King in the forthcoming Battle of the Sexes.
She is repped by WME.
