Eric Bana is making his American TV debut as the male lead in Bravo’s true-crime scripted anthology series DIRTY JOHN. Bana will star opposite Connie Britton in the first season of the anthology series, from Universal Cable Productions, Atlas Entertainment, and Los Angeles Times Studios.
Dirty John is based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. Bana will play John Meehan, a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra Newell (Britton) off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The series chronicles the true story of how a romance with Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial, and manipulation.
Written by Chance co-creator Alexandra Cunnigham, Dirty John received a two season, straight-to-series order from Bravo earlier this year.
Bana’s credits include Black Hawk Down, The Hulk, Lone Survivor, Troy, Star Trek, and Funny People. He can currently be seen in The Forgiven, opposite Forest Whitaker. He is represented by WME.
