Christian Grey may have met his match with Jack Hyde, a FIFTY SHADES DARKER character that is being circled by Eric Johnson. In the books by E.L. James, Hyde tries to pursue Anastasia Steele, Grey’s former lover, after he hires her as his new assistant.
Once Johnson signs on as Grey’s adversary, he will join recent additions to the cast, Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcoate. Jamie Dornan will reprise his role as Grey and Dakota Johnson will return as Steele. Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, and Max Martini will also return.
James Foley will be stepping in for Sam Taylor-Johnson as director for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel as well as the third installment, Fifty Shades Freed. Niall Leonard will work on the script with James who is also a producer with Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti, and Marcus Viscidi. Fifty Shades Darker is slated for a February 10, 2017 release date.
Johnson was recently seen in The Knick as Dr. Everett Gallinger alongside Clive Owen. His other credits include Rookie Blue, Orphan Black, and Smallville.
