Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan are teaming up on the action adventure drama TIME. The series is being produced by Sony Pictures TV. Kripke and Ryan, who both have overall deals at Sony, will pen the script together, and will executive produce alongside John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment.
Pitched as Back to the Future meets Mission: Impossible, Time will center on an unlikely trio jumping through time to fight mysterious criminals in order to protect the course of history.
The project sold to NBC in a bidding war that garnered Kripke and Ryan a pilot production commitment from The Peacock. Producer Davis has had quite a lucky roll of the dice lately, having sold the upcoming Las Vegas action series The Player to NBC as well as a new 1970s Las Vegas drama to Fox.
Kripke, in addition to his duties on Supernatural, is currently adapting the screenplay for the sci-fi fantasy novel “The House With a Clock in its Walls” by John Bellairs.
As for Ryan, he’ll be returning to the network side of things after spending some time on Silicon Beach executive producing the Amazon series Mad Dogs and the Netflix series The Get Down.
