Eve Hewson will be taking on the classic role of Maid Marian in Lionsgate’s new reboot of Robin Hood, ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS. Otto Bathurst is directing the project, which was written by Joby Harold. Appian Way will produce the film. The schedule for the production has been shifted so Taron Egerton, who will play Robin Hood, can finish the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Origins is going to be a darker take on the Robin Hood story. After returning from the Crusades, Robin of Loxley finds a crime-ridden, corrupt Nottingham and Sherwood Forest, so he forms a gang and takes the law into his own hands.
Hewson is having a breakout year. The role of Maid Marian was a sought-after part, and dozens of actresses were seen, and she her big premiere is this weekend with Tom Hanks’ Bridge of Spies. She is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
