The blogosphere has set its info phasers to ‘rumor’ again. Oh, is that the wrong franchise? Does it even matter when it comes to JJ Abrams? Thought so.
Anyhow, the rumor mill has started churning again for STAR WARS EPISODE VII. This time Latino Review is reporting that Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as (force ghost, farce ghoul?, fork goat?) Obi-Wan Kenobi. This news isn’t exactly outside the box thinking and is very likely to happen if only because McGregor has stated that he would love to return. That coupled with the fact that LR seems to be on point when it comes to superhero/superfranchise rumors and we can (probably) set our info phasers to ‘cautious acceptance.’
Michael Arndt (“Toy Story 3”, “Little Miss Sunshine”) is currently sweating his weight in stress while writing the script. JJ “I put Star Wars into Star Trek” Abrams is most likely pulling out that beautiful frock of hair trying to get the ball rolling as director. Simon Kinberg, George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan are set as producers.
McGregor was last seen in the largely unseen “Jack the Giant Slayer” and the whitewashed “The Impossible.” He’ll next pop up in “Jane Got a Gun” and “Son of a Gun.” Gun. There I said it three times.
He is repped by UTA.
