McGregor joins the impressive cast consisting of Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette.
Bill Condon will helm the picture from a script written by Stephen Chbosky. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films will produce.
McGregor recently appeared in the Johnny Depp comedy Mortdecai and portrayed Jesus in the historical drama Last Days in the Desert. He’ll next appear in the western Jane Got a Gun and Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead.
McGregor is repped by UTA and United Agents.
