〉Hoffman made the 2015 LPPC Finalists with his script Running Money
Tom Carter of Artillery Creative has signed 2015 Launch Pad Pilots finalist David Hoffman! Hoffman’s script Running Money is a unique and diverse drama that’s garnered a lot of love and attention. Carter has an impressive roster of talented clients who have projects set up at networks and studios alike. Since launching Artillery earlier this year, Carter’s focus has been on identifying and developing emerging voices for film and television. With Carter’s passion for distinct voices, Hoffman will fit right in.
Hoffman has a degree in History from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an M.B.A from the Columbia Business School. After 15 years in the financial services industry, he followed his passion and embarked on a writing career.
Hoffman’s scripts have won numerous awards and accolades. Most recently, his feature spec script The Moon, The Stars and All The Planets was a Nicholl Fellowship Semi Finalist and his Launch Pad entry Running Money earned a coveted spot as a Top 10 Finalist this year. Suffice it to say, Hoffman’s budding career is worth keeping an eye on.
Running Money tells the story of a young Latina woman who, despite her incredible qualifications, has the deck stacked against her in the fast-paced world of Wall Street hedge funds. Incorporating everything we love about Damages with the fun and levity of Suits, Running Money features a lead that we’ll not only root for, but easily relate to. She is a grounded character who must fight for every win and who will find herself at the center of a very dangerous conspiracy farther reaching than she could have imagined.
Hoffman marks the 78th writer signed in just the first two years of the Launch Pad Competition!
