We just got word that Mackenzie Foy (Interstellar) is circling a lead role in ARK ONE, the sizzling hot spec from writer Matthew O’Brien. The young actress, who is repped by Coast to Coast, got her start in the huge Twilight franchise, appearing as the half-vampire child Renesmee in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 and Part 2. She just appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-nominated sci-fi drama, Interstellar, with Matthew McConaughey. Next up on her plate is the animated adaption of The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic tale about a pilot crashes who in the desert and meets a little boy from a distant planet. Foy will voice The Little Girl alongside James Franco as the Fox and Rachel McAdams as The Mother.
Overnight Ark One has generated some intense buzz across town, going into almost a dozen major territories. The spec is now into Voltage, MRC, Film Nation, New Line, and Dimension/TWC, having already gone into Relativity, Screen Gems, Tristar, FOX, and MGM. This hot project comes from Intrigue Entertainment, with Joe Wiggins, Lucas Carter, and Tariq Jalil attached to produce. Plot details are still being kept locked down tight, but the script is being pitched as contained sci-fi thriller in the vein of The Professional with a Divergent franchise component.
