〉 Chuck Russell is set to direct the thriller from scribe Adam Price.
Alan Ritchson has signed on to star opposite Alec Baldwin in the crime thriller ICE. Silvio Muraglia, Eric Fierstein, and Viki Marras are set to produce for Paradox Entertainment, with The Scorpion King director Chuck Russell at the helm. The Final Girl scribe Adam Prince penned the script.
Ritchson will star as Will Cavanaugh, a soldier-turned-trucker who is still haunted by the time and the deaths of men in Afghanistan. He signs on to drive on the high-risk “Ice Road” in Canada only to be thrown into the danger and madness of a diamond mine robbery. No word on who Baldwin is set to play.
The movie will mark Ritchson’s first major leading role in a feature, but he is no stranger to thrills and action, having starred in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Ritchson will reprise his role as Raphael in the upcoming live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. He recently appeared in the indie sci-fi comedy Lazer Team and starred, produced and co-wrote the comedy Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland. He is repped by UTA.
Baldwin recently appeared in Concussion starring Will Smith. He is currently filming the Alexander Payne dramedy Downsizing with Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, and Jason Sudeikis. He is repped by CAA.
Russell’s past work includes movies like Scorpion King and Eraser, but since serving as a producer on Michael Mann’s Collateral in 2004, he has been zeroing in on the crime genre. His latest film, I Am Wrath stars John Travolta as a man who is out for justice after a group of corrupt police officers fail to catch his wife’s killer. Recently, Russell penned a draft of Marvel’s Doctor Strange. He is repped by Verve and ROAR.
