John Travolta is the latest to join the growing cast of Goldove Entertainment’s action/thriller LITTLE MIZZ INNOCENT. Travolta’s role in the thriller is kept under wraps, though the story follows a seemingly innocent UN interpreter (Olga Kurylenko), who becomes pulled into a war between the FBI and a criminal dynasty.
The $45-55 million-budgeted actioner hails from producers Lynda McKoy, Hudson McKoy, and Gino McKoy, who also scripted. Xavier Gens, known for 2007’s Hitman and the forthcoming Stephen King adaptation Cell, is directing.
French company Full Dawa and South Africa’s Zen HQ will co-produce, while international rights are repped by Hong Kong-based All Rights Entertainment.
Production is scheduled for an early 2016 start, with shooting taking place in Canada, Austria, China, and South Africa. Described by the producers as Canada’s most expensive independent feature, Little Mizz Innocent is aiming for a late 2016 release.
Travolta, who last appeared in crime drama The Forger, is next set to appear opposite Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, and David Schwimmer in FX’s American Crime Story. In the series, which tackles the OJ Simpson case, Travolta will play Robert Shapiro.
Travolta is repped by Principato-Young Entertainment.
