Andrew Bachelor, who has risen to fame through Vine videos under the name “King Bach,” has signed on to star in the indie comedy WHERE’S THE MONEY from Rivers Edge Films, sources close to The Tracking Board have confirmed.
The movie follows an African American student who must rush a white USC fraternity in order to get to the $500,000 buried in the foundation of their house. The script was penned by Ted Sperling.
Rivers Edge is also producing Speedy at Warner Bros., the animated feature based on the classic cartoon ‘Speedy Gonzales’, as well as MGM’s remake of the thriller Black Ice. Rivers Edge was formed by Sellers and jumpstarted a partnership with Kevin Frakes’s financial/production company PalmStar Media, who fund Sellers’s overhead, production, and development costs. Sellers was previously the production president for The Weinstein Company and executive produced August: Osage County and St. Vincent.
Over the past few months, Bachelor has been busy expanding his resume in various formats. After accumulating over 5.8 million fans on Vine, the producers of Key & Peele announced they had set a up new series starring Bachelor at Fox. He then signed up for McG’s horror flick The Babysitter, and as Tracking Board exclusively reported back in October, Bachelor is also set star in an untitled comedy for MediaWeaver Entertainment.
