〉 Kumar’s script Greyshore was the Top Drama in the 2015 Launch Pad Pilots Competition
We’re pleased to announce that after previously signing with Benderspink managers Scott Stoops and David Baggelaar, 2015 Launch Pad Pilot Competition finalist Rohit Kumar has also signed with ICM Partners’ Andrew Murphy, Brandy Rivers, and Matt Baldovsky.
Kumar’s script Greyshore finished in the Top Drama spot and the Top 3 Overall for our 2015 Launch Pad Pilots Competition, while his drama pilot Unbecomers earned a spot in our honorable mentions. Kumar began his career in computer engineering before diving into the entertainment industry head-on, landing jobs at CAA, Davis Entertainment, and True Pictures.
Ptched as Wayward Pines meets The Shining, Greyshore features unsettling scares and intriguing mystery in the vein of Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft. It follows the patriarch of a Boston family of three who moves his wife and daughter to the eerie town of Greyshore where he learns that he inherited a house from his deceased, and previously unknown, biological parents.
Kumar’s other Launch Pad script, Unbecomers, is being pitched as an adolescent twist on How to Get Away With Murder. It centers around a high school party full of booze, sex, underage drinking where an unexpected event changes the lives of a group of kids as they prepare to leave high school and begin their adult lives.
Congratulations once again to Kumar for being the 68th overall writer to land representation in just three years of the competition!
