EXCLUSIVE 〉The duo made the top 25 in the LPPC with their sci-fi pilot Timestoppers
We’re happy to announce that LPPC semi-finalist writing duo Allen Glover & Robb Lanum have signed with Tom Carter of Artillery Creative! Glover and Lanum’s sci-fi epic Timestoppers has not only been a favorite amongst our judges, but has already generated a great deal of interest. Carter’s clients have projects set up everywhere, from Showtime to ABC to Universal. Since launching his own Artillery earlier this year, Carter’s focus has been on identifying and developing new writers.
Allen Glover and Robb Lanum went to high school together in Virginia, where they began making movies together. Glover went on to attend the film program at NYU, and Lanum earned his screenwriting MFA at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, Glover worked as a curator at the Paley Center for Media, specializing in producing exhibitions on iconic cultural figures. Lanum moved to LA and entered the entertainment business on the TV side, working as a script coordinator on kids’ sitcoms and reality shows. In 2013, the two were reunited, and they got to work.
Their Top 25 script is a thrilling and unique take on the sci-fi action drama. Timestoppers presents vast conspiracies, a desperate struggle between good and evil, and endless outcomes to tell the story of an escaped prisoner who can inexplicably stop time. He soon discovers that he is not alone, and that he is the key to discovering, and unlocking, the secrets of the unexplained power. If he ever wants to be reconnected with his family again, he must become a key player in a battle between those who wish to preserve time and those who wish to let it run out.
Glover and Lanum mark the 71st and 72nd writers signed in just the first two years of the Launch Pad Competition!
