Sarah Conradt has been brought on to pen the script for MGM‘s remake of the 2007 Finnish thriller BLACK ICE. The story follows a complex love triangle between a woman, her husband and his mistress.
MGM acquired the rights to finance and distribute a remake of the Finnish film last September. The Finnish version, released in 2007, won great critical acclaim as well as six Jussi Awards, the Finnish equivalent of an Oscar. The film was written and directed by Petri Kotwica. Sellers had been interested in acquiring the rights for years but was not able to convince Kotwica to give them up until partnering with Lange.
Conradt’s thriller spec Dead of Winter was featured on the 2011 Black List, and is now in development with Hailee Steinfeld attached to star. In addition to Dead of Winter, Conradt recently completed the female spy thriller Enigma at Focus Features with Ric Waugh attached to direct. Previously, she wrote Vengeance, a female driven spy thriller based on an idea from Luc Besson and the thriller Home Invasion for Paramount/Bad Robot based on an idea from Adam Goodman.
Sellers is currently producing When The Bough Breaks starring Morris Chestnut with Michael Lynne and Robert Shaye. He recently spent three years as head of production at The Weinstein Company where he oversaw such films as St. Vincent and Southpaw.
