〉 The script is being described being in the vein of John Wick and Crank
Avatar star Sam Worthington is developing a new highly stylized action flick from first time writer James Abrams. DUMDUM is described as an ultra violent comic book styled action piece, pitched in the vein of John Wick and Crank. The script was a 2012 Script Pipeline finalist. Worthington is producing through his Full Clip Productions, with John Schwarz executive producing.
Worthington’s Full Clip shingle, which he created with Josh and Michael Schwarz shortly after the record-smashing success of Avatar , has an expressed goal of producing content based on its graphic novel projects. In that sense, DumDum–which reflects a comic book style tone as fast-paced, action-driven and hyper-realistic–suits the company’s purview.
Worthington, who is best known for playing Jake Sully in the 2009 James Cameron-directed box office phenomenon, has been ramping up his credits as a producer lately. Through Full Clip, he’s attached to produce several features, including The Broken, Quatermain, and Damaged. The company is currently in production with Deadline Gallipoli, an Australian TV miniseries set in World War I.
On screen, Worthington recently appeared in Everest, and is in pre-production with the three announced Avatar sequels–which will shoot back-to-back over the next three years. He’s also set for the lead in The Titan, which centers around a military family who takes part in a ground-breaking experiment of genetic evolution and space exploration.
Worthington and Full Clip are currently scouting for a smart director who can handle the extreme action and kinetic style of DumDum.
