Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Falk Hentschel is ditching Marvel to suit up as Hawkman for The CW’s DC’S LEGEND OF TOMORROW. The ensemble superhero series, a spinoff of the massively successful Arrow and The Flash, follows a rag-tag group of heroes and villains that band together to defeat immortal baddie Vandal Savage.
The series currently stars Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz and Victor Garber, who have all previously appeared on either Arrow or Flash. Newcomers Ciara Renee and Franz Drameh will also star, as Hawgirl and Jay Jackson, respectively.
Hawkman, aka Carter Hall, is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian prince who, along with his soulmate, are destined to live out different lives forever. Throughout each reincarnation, the duo are fated to find each other again, as well as possessing the ability to tap into the powers of the Hawk god, Horus, transforming them into fearsome winged warriors.
Hentschel’s interpretation of the character will first appear on an upcoming Arrow/Flash crossover episode, before regularly appearing on the Legends of Tomorrow spinoff, premiering midseason 2016.
Hentschel’s credits include Transcendence, White House Down and Knight and Day. Aside from his stint on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he’s also appeared on Reckless, The Closer, Revenge, CSI, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
He’s repped by APA.
