FX is keeping it in the family, casting Fargo Season 2 standout Rachel Keller as the female lead in LEGION, FX and Marvel’s X-Men pilot. The project hails from Fargo creator Noah Hawley as well as Bryan Singer, Marvel TV, and FX Productions.
Legion introduces the story of David Haller, based on the Marvel comics character Legion, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years, but a strange encounter with a fellow patient forces him to confront the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.
Keller will play the female lead, described simply as a scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s. As with other Marvel projects, details are being kept under wraps. Theories about her potential powers abound, with some rumors suggesting that it will be linked to human touch, paralleling fellow X-Men universe characters Rogue and Spyke.
This marks the first lead role for Keller, who had only a handful of guest appearances before her fan-favorite turn as Simone Gerhardt in the second season of Fargo.
Keller is repped by Suskin Management
