The Runaways filmmaker Floria Sigismondi is set to direct with Roy Lee and Scott Bernstein producing.
The film is based on an adaptation of Henry James’s short story The Turn of the Screw, which follows a young woman who is hired as a nanny to two orphans convinced that their country mansion is haunted. Wolfhard is set to play one of the orphans.
Chad & Carey Hayes wrote the original script, with Jade Bartlett penning the most recent draft. Production is expected to begin in early 2018.
Wolfhard has been on a major hot streak, starting with his breakout role in Netflix’s Stranger Things. Wolfhard followed that up by starring in New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It, which was one of the biggest box office successes of 2017. He is represented by Velocity Entertainment Partners and Jackoway Tyerman.
