When MTV announced that they were developing a SCREAM television series based on the groundbreaking franchise from Wes Craven, one of the first details released was that they didn’t have the rights to the iconic Ghostface mask that has shaped a horror generation. At first, I have to admit that I was skeptical about how they would approach Ghostface. Now, we’ve got our first look at the new mask for the character.
First, this is a positive confirmation that they didn’t drop the spirit of the films. They could have turned the character into just a person in a hood, or something along those lines. Even though it is a slight departure from the mask that we all know, I think that audiences will become adjusted to the new look that stayed in the vein of the original character. After all, this is Scream for a new generation. Have a look.
