Four New Attachments Round Out Cast Of “The Wife”

Close stars Joan Castleman, a flawlessly wife who selflessly gave up her own writing ambitions to assume the role of wife to philandering literary giant Joe Castleman (Pryce). On the eve of Joe’s Nobel Prize for Literature Joan decides to leave him.

Slater is the determined, unauthorized biographer who prompts Joan’s decision. 

Marling will play the younger Joan who is mentored by McDormand.

Lerman plays David, Joe and Joan’s troubled son, an aspiring writer who stands in the big shoes of his successful father.

Swedish director Bjorn Runge will direct  from a screenplay by Jane Anderson, adapted from Meg Wolitzer’s 2003 novel of the same name.

Rosalie Swedlin, Meta Louise Foldager, and Maria Dahlin and Gila Ulfung are producing with Steve Golin set as executive .
