Life in Pieces executive producer Jason Winer’s hourlong legal dramedy TOKEN WHITE MALE has landed at Fox with a script commitment plus penalty. The show was written by Carter Covington and Robin Schiff, who previously worked together on the TV adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You.
The series is a character-based procedural about a fun-loving, no-filter, low-rent lawyer who, against all odds, becomes the first male associate at a groundbreaking all-female law firm.
In addition to Life in Pieces, Winer has served as EP on numerous shows including Modern Family and The Crazy Ones.
CBS is developing SENTINELS, a spy drama from supervising producer Rob Pearlstein and executive producers Nick Santora as well as Nicholas Wootton. The three also developed the CBS’ computer hacking action drama Scorpion.
The series was written and executive produced by Pearlstein and will be similar to Scorpion as it is set up as a light, action procedural. It centers on the world’s worst news team who’s actually a cover for a secret government program that has highly trained spies masquerading as hapless reporters. They use their unfettered access all over the globe to take on harrowing missions and preserve world peace.
