Better known for their work in tween-oriented series, Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan are growing up on screen as sweethearts Janet and Brad in Fox’s TV remake of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. The two-hour taped event is set to premiere in the fall.
The pair play Janet Weiss and Brad Majors who stumble upon the home of sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien, and mad scientist: Dr. Frank-n-Furter. Lou Adler, Gail Berman, and Kenny Ortega are executive producing.
The project previously cast Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox in the role of Dr. Frank-n-Furter made famous by Tim Curry. Reeve Carney and Staz Nair were also added to the series as “Riff Raff” and “Rocky Horror” respectively.
Rocky Horror joins a slew of TV musical remakes including the previously aired Peter Pan and The Wiz, as well as the upcoming Grease and ABC’s pre-taped Dirty Dancing.
Justice is best known for starring in the Nickelodeon series Victorious and more recently in the sitcom Undateable. She will next be seen in the The Outskirts. McCartan meanwhile was a regular on Disney Channel’s Liv And Maddie and USA’s Royal Pains.
