The film follows a young Englishman (Gleeson) who joins a quirky band as a keyboard player, idolizing the band’s highly eccentric, utterly fascinating leader (Fassbender), but must grapple with the fact that he’s an ordinary musician whose real talent lies in marketing. The project will be directed by Lenny Abrahamson off a script from Peter Straughan and Jon Ronson. Chris Clough will produce.
Fassbender has been on fire for the past year, turning it acclaimed roles for “Prometheus”, “Shame”, “X-Men: First Class” and “Jane Eyre”. Next up he’ll be starring in “Shame” director Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave”. He is repped by CAA and Troika.
Gleeson is perhaps best known for his role as Bill Weasley in the final two installments of the “Harry Potter” series. After most recently starring in “Shadow Dancer”, he will next be seen in “Dredd 3D” and “Anna Karenina”, both of which are awaiting theatrical releases. He is repped by Paradigm and The Agency.
