Kate Winslet is going to portray one of the most interesting women in the 20th century, Lee Miller, in the upcoming biopic that will follow the model/artist/photographer/war correspondant through her extraordinary life and career. The as-of-yet-untitled film will be produced by Hopscotch Features’ Andrew Mason and Troy Lum.
Miller led an extraordinary life, which ranged from her glamorous time as a fashion model and working as a muse and collaborator with Man Ray and Pablo Picasso, to witnessing some of the most gruesome atrocities in World War II as a photojournalist and wartime correspondant. Most of the material for the upcoming film is from her son’s biography, The Lives of Lee Miller.
Winslet can be seen currently in another biopic, Steve Jobs, in which she plays one of the original Macintosh developers, Joanna Hoffman. Her next project will be the gritty crime drama, Triple 9. She is repped by CAA and United Agents.
