FX has picked up TABOO to series. The period drama, created by Steven Knight from a story by Tom Hardy and Chips Hardy, centers on James Keziah Delaney, an adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 stolen diamonds, seeking revenge for the death of his father. Delaney refuses to sell the family business and sets out to build his own shipping empire, getting mixed up with some dangerous characters along the way. Hardy will star and executive produce alongside Ridley Scott, Kate Crowe, Dean Baker, Knight, and Gene Stein. Scott Free London and Hardy Son & Baker will produce the series for both BBC One and FX.
Although Hardy is best known for his film roles in The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, he’s no stranger to TV. Over the years, Hardy has starred in Band of Brothers, Oliver Twist and, most recently, Peaky Blinders, which Knight also created. Hardy will next appear in the second season of the Netflix drama, as well as Mad Max: Fury Road and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenent alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Domhnall Gleeson.
