Gabriel Basso has been cast in Meg Ryan’s ITHACA. The drama revolves around Homer Macauley, a 14-year-old telegraph bike messenger. His older brother has gone to fight in World War II, leaving him to care for his widowed mother, his older sister and his four-year-old brother, Ulysses. Ryan will star in what will be her directorial debut along with Tom Hanks, Sam Shepard, Melanie Griffith, Hamish Linklater, and her son, Jack Quaid.
One of Basso’s first roles has turned out to be one of his biggest to date. He played Laura Linney’s son on Showtime’s hit drama series “The Big C,” before going on to roles in thriller “Super 8” and Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ dramedy “The Kings of Summer.” His upcoming projects are tending toward darker roles in thrillers like “The Hive” and “The Whole Truth,” which also stars Keanu Reeves and Renée Zellweger.
Basso is repped by ICM, Coast to Coast Talent Group and Industry Entertainment.
