Peter Dinklage will join the cast of Sony’s upcoming comedy PIXELS. The project follows four champion arcade gamers who are called back into action to save the world when aliens start to attack by staging versions of ’80s video games on an epic scale. Based on a short film of the same name, the project is being produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and helmed by “Harry Potter” director Chris Columbus.
Dinklage joins funnymen Adam Sandler and Kevin James. James will play the American President who asks his childhood friends, played by Sandler and Josh Gad, for help stop this video game invasion from ruining the earth. Dinklage has been cast as a Donkey Kong and Space Invaders champion who is a bit of a loudmouth.
Dinklage’s breakout role was as Finbar McBride in the indie flick “The Station Agent.” More recently, he can be seen as Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and in the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
Although he’s not well known for his comedy roles, Dinklage has had roles in “Elf,” “Death at a Funeral” and “Penelope.” Personally, I can’t wait to see everything and anything Dinklage is in…and I’m especially pumped for the new GoT season! Team Tyrion!
