GAME OF THRONES has announced their season 5 directors will be:
- Michael Slovis – Episodes 501 and 502
- Mark Mylod – Episodes 503 and 504
- Jeremy Podeswa – Episodes 505 and 506
- Miguel Sapochnik – Episodes 507 and 508
- David Nutter – Episodes 509 and 510
Past directors Neil Marshall and Alex Graves are taking a bit of a hiatus and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are sticking to writing rather than directing this season as well.
Starting from the top, Slovis is the veteran director has some pretty impressive series under his belt, including episodes of NBC’s “30 Rock,” AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” and CBS’ “CSI.” Mylod’s previous directing experience includes episodes of Showtime’s “Shameless,” HBO’s “Entourage,” and Showtime’s “United States of Tara.” He also directed “Ali G Indahouse.” Podeswa is known for helming various episodes of HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” Showtime’s “The Tudors,” and HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire.” Sapochnik seems to be the newbie of the bunch, but still has some impressive credits to his name, including Fox’s “House,” Cinemax’s “Banshee,” and Fox’s “Fringe.”
Nutter is the only returning director this go-around, having previously directed GoT episodes “The Rains of Castamere” and “The Old Gods and the New,” among others. He’s also directed episodes of just about everything else you watch, including “X-Files,” “Roswell,” “Entourage,” and “Arrow.”
GoT veterans or newbies, it’s clear these guys know what they’re doing. The Seven Kingdoms are in good hands.
Slovis is repped by Eastern Talent Agency. Mylod is repped by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates and WME. Podeswa is with CAA and Untitled Entertainment. Sapochnik is with WME and Casarotto Ramsay & Associates. Nutter is repped by WME.
