In his first post-mortem move since his beloved character Jon Snow seemingly bit the big one on Game of Thrones, Kit Harington has joined the cast of the forthcoming thriller BRIMSTONE. Described as a tale of retribution, Harington will play an outlaw influential to the story, a role previously held by Robert Pattinson.
He joins Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Carice van Houten, Paul Anderson, Jack Roth, and Carla Juri. Fanning stars as Liz, a woman trying to run from her troubled past, with a sadistic preacher (Pearce) at her heels. Winter in Wartime helmer Martin Koolhoven will direct based on his script.
Harington just wrapped up his five-season run on HBO’s smash-hit series Game of Thrones, but will very likely return. He recently appeared in How To Train Your Dragon 2, Seventh Son, and Testament of Youth, which is currently playing theatrically.
Up next he’ll star alongside Jessica Chastain and Kathy Bates in Xavier Dolan’s The Death and Life of John F. Donovan and will lead opposite Vera Farmiga in the drama Greenland Time. Harington will also return to HBO, not for Game of Thrones (Sorry), but for the TV comedy flick 7 Days in Hell, co-starring with Andy Samberg, Karen Gillan, and Will Forte.
